Paula Coates is a chartered physiotherapist and clinical specialist in sports injury rehabilitation and back pain management. She is also an accomplished author of four books.

Paula is not your average physiotherapist, she qualified in 1995 from Leeds Metropolitan University and then went on to complete her MSc from University College London in 2000.  She later returned to U.C.L and Kings College as a clinical lecturer, supervisor and examiner, which she continues to enjoy fitting around her busy caseload.

 She left the NHS in 2006 to concentrate on her private practice and writing work. After initially writing features for health and fitness magazines she was commissioned to write her first book, 'Running Repairs' which was published in December 2007. On the back of the success of 'Running Repairs', she was asked to write a further three books as part of an 'exercise your wayto fitness' series for the publisher A&C Black. Her books on back pain, arthritis and diabetes were published in February 2010. Paula continues to write for national newspapers, health and fitness magazines and she has a monthly column in 'Women's Running' magazine.
